Hello! My name is Huw Barrett. I'm an illustrator and web designer based in Cardiff, South Wales. The Animal Kingdom allows me to indulge my passion of drawing animals in funny situations and sharing these with other people.

The first sketches I did were crudely drawn on post-it notes over 10 years ago. It originated from my first character Mike, that I had been drawing on various canvases. Using the intial shape of Mikes head, I began creating simply shaped animals such as dogs, fish, sheep, etc.

As much as I enjoyed sketching the animals and putting them directly onto canvas, it was great to finally get around to learning Illustrator. With this tool at my disposal, the amount of animals I was able to create increased drastically, as well as improving the quality.

I'm lucky to be able to stock some of my prints and cards in various shops around Cardiff, but I'm always looking to expand into other locations. Please get in touch if you would be interested in stocking my products :)
